Meet Denise (she/her)! Denise has been tattooing for 10 years and specializes in anime tattoos, but she is open to working in a wide variety of styles! Her favorite subjects are pinups, Pokemon, and any anime, Disney or pop culture designs.
When she’s not busy drawing, she enjoys playing video games and collecting Pokemon cards with her partner, cuddling with her two dogs, and watching her favorite anime.
REN
Last but definitely not least, the man who makes this all possible, meet Ren (he/him)! Ren has been tattooing 9 years and opened up Tender Heart almost 4 years ago! His specialty is traditional and fine line black and gray. He enjoys tattooing a balance of serious and silly subjects, pieces with lots of color, and a balance of dark and light. Outside of being the best boss and friend anyone could ever ask for, Ren enjoys painting minis and collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! cards!
Lolly
Meet Lolly Lu (they/them)! Lolly Lu started out as a cosmetic tattooer in 2022 and expanded into body tattooing in December of 2023. They enjoy tattooing many styles from Traditional to fine line! The Subject matter they would love to tattoo more of are- Nature/flowers, bugs, Studio Ghibli, sailor moon, Sanrio, famous internet cats, pretty much all things cute and silly!
When they’re not tattooing, Lolly likes to eat sweets at home with their four cats. If they were a Skyrim character and you killed and looted them you would get 4 pounds of glitter, a couple cool rocks, and a pack of Newport shorts.
Michael
Meet Michael (He/Him)! Hehas been tattooing since 2008 and just moved to Virginia from San Francisco California. He loves tattooing in multiple styles including semi realistic, color, black & gray, neo-traditional, geometric, whip stippling and more. Custom tattoo design drawing, cover up, refresh, add-on.
Dani
Meet Dani (they/them)! Dani has been tattooing for 8 years and specializes in illustrative and traditional work. Their favorite subject matters to tattoo are anime, florals, anything dark and weird, and custom pieces! Dani is originally from San Diego, is self taught, has 3 kitties and 1 big ol’ pup named Mordecai, and one human bean.
Oliver
This is Ollie! (He/him)
Oliver has a traditional art background as a portrait painter, before becoming a tattoo apprentice in February of 2023. His favorite things to tattoo are cute animals, bugs, and video game characters (especially anything Nintendo)!!!
He has two pet lizards, moonlights as a scare actor, and is always playing at least one DnD campaign.
NEIL
Meet Neil (he/him)! Neil has been on his tattooing journey since 2020, but he’s nearing a year into his apprenticeship at Tender Heart! He enjoys tattooing western subjects, chopper pieces, pinups, and pet portraits in a traditional style. When he isn’t working on cars or motorcycles, he enjoys collecting vintage toys and clothes, and working with different art mediums.
MOOSE
Meet Moose (she/they)! Moose is our newest shop apprentice. They enjoy painting florals, aliens and trippy art. When they’re not at the shop cleaning the fridge until it’s sparkling (by their own volition, I swear), you can find them hiking and spending time with their pup, Bean! We could not be more excited to have Moose starting their tattooing journey here with us!
SLIP
This is Slip (he/him)! Slip has been tattooing for 2 years, and specializes in traditional but is open to experimenting with other styles! His favorite subjects are animal heads, scorpions, and pinups. When he’s not busy being the best dressed person in the building, he enjoys pottery, fighting games, and spending time with his family!
Gray
Meet Gray (They/Them)! Gray has been a close friend of the shop since opening in 2020 and is excited to now be part of the team as our new shop manager!
Gray loves crocheting fun things for their friends, playing cozy video games, and spending time with their dog Chicken and their cat Lemon. When you come to Tenderheart, chances are you’ll see their smiling face at the counter- so come say hi!👋🏼
